Priscilla Seabourn, a PhD student in the Entomology program, was recently accepted into the inaugural Biology of Vector-borne Diseases course offered by the University of Idaho Center for Health in the Human Ecosystem. In addition, Priscilla was awarded a $1000 scholarship from the program that will cover the registration, lodging and meals.  Her travel expenses to the mainland are paid for by a generous scholarship from the Minoru Tamashiro Fund for Entomology. Priscilla's dissertation research examines variation in the microbiotas of mosquitoes in Hawai‘i. Priscilla works in our lab, and is at the core of a fruitful collaboration between Dr. Helen Spafford and Matt Medeiros.   Way to go, Priscilla! Make sure to come back and teach us everything you learned there!
